BRAND IDENTITY · APP DESIGN · WEBSITE · COMMUNITY
We created Poker Call, a live-video poker app, from the name up.
Brand, app, website and community, designed and built by TwoFifths in Edinburgh. Live on Android from Tuesday 3 November 2026, with iPhone to follow.
THE IDEA
Poker was always about reading faces. So we put the faces back.
Online poker turned a sociable game into avatars and timers. Poker Call brings back the part that matters: six friends round one table, live on video, seeing every grin and every bluff.
It is Texas Hold’em with the people you actually want to play with, played with chips only, never money, for adults 18 and over.
THE NAME
A call is the poker move. A call is also what you make over video. One name says both halves of the product.
The store listing, Poker Call: Live Hold’em, tells everyone else exactly what they are getting. The tagline does the rest: See the bluff.
THE MARK
A poker chip that is also a speech bubble.
The mark is a single piece of green enamel: a chip seen face on, with a short tail growing from its lower left. Eight gold rim segments, a gold ring and the wordmark set right through the centre. One shape says poker and conversation, which is the whole product.
We size tested the wordmark down to 29 pixels and it beat the type free version at every icon size, so it stays.
The Poker Call logo is protected by UK trade mark application UK00004453834, accepted and published by the UK Intellectual Property Office, with registration due at the end of December 2026.
COLOUR
Casino Noir: deep emerald, engraved gold, warm cream.
We built the palette around a late night card room. Emerald felt for every surface, gold treated as a material rather than a flat colour, with foil highlights and an engraved edge, and cream type that reads at 12.9 to 1 on the darkest green.
Red and blue appear only where they mean something: fold, call and the suits on the cards.
TYPE
Big, bold and built for a phone.
Anton carries the big moments: screen titles, hero numbers and the call to play. Manrope handles every button and label, tight, clear and easy to tap. Sofia Pro Condensed Black is kept for the wordmark alone, so the logo never looks like anything else on screen.
Two lines sum up the brand voice: See the bluff. Read them. Beat them.
THE CHARACTERS
Meet the house.
A brand this social needed a face, so we gave it a host. Ace runs the room with a golden microphone and a sequinned emerald jacket, and he never misses a good hand.
Beside him stands the crew: The Colonel, the stag, always immaculately dressed, Smoke in his kilt, and Ma Names Jeff. Every image is made in an animated film style, warm, chunky and friendly, so the brand feels like a great night in rather than a casino.
THE PRODUCT
Six seats. Six faces. One table.
The table is built around portrait video tiles, three across the top and three across the bottom, so every player is properly visible on a phone and nobody is squeezed into a thumbnail.
Around the table sits a house of side games, The Gilt Wheel, The Tumble, The Velvet Bandit, Ace’s Pyramid and more, each with its odds printed on the front. Friends meet at private tables with a code, and Poker Night keeps the same crew together every week. Chips are for play only. They have no cash value and can never be cashed out.
THE TABLE
A table with weight, in a room for every stake.
Cards turn over with a hinge, not a fade, and the showdown holds its breath before the first flip. Every stake has its own room, lit and furnished like a different night out, from the Den and the Speakeasy to the Imperial and the Sovereign.
THE HOUSE
Sixteen games. One wallet. Odds on the front.
Around the table we built a whole house: The Gilt Wheel, The Tumble, Big Tumble, Ace’s Pyramid, Flip or Fold, The Flop Slip, Crown Hand, The Velvet Bandit, The Vault Run, the Suit League and more. Every one pays play chips into the same wallet you sit down with.
Each game prints its odds where you play, so nothing is hidden and every prize is named before you claim it. No third-party ads, ever, and no real-money gambling. Just more reasons to come back to the table.
THE APP IN MOTION
The lobby, the table, The Tumble and The Gilt Wheel.
Real screens from the Poker Call app, shown with cartoon avatars in place of live video.
THE WEBSITE
pokercall.live: the mark in 3D.
We hand built the launch site to feel like walking into the app. The chip logo is a real 3D object built in three.js: a thick lacquered plate that tilts towards your cursor while gold chips drift and gold dust falls behind it.
Below the fold, the site tells the story in chapters, from the faces at the table to a full tour of the house with every game’s odds printed on its plaque, then gets players from first click to the right app store in seconds. Fast, mobile first and written in plain English.
THE COMMUNITY
We built the community before we built the launch.
Poker Call was tested in the open, with the people who would play it. A testers chat and the Poker Call Players group became the clubhouse, with news, how-to guides and a fresh illustrated post from Ace for every update. Game Nights every evening, at 8pm UK and 9pm New York, filled the tables at the same time every day.
Player ideas turned into features week after week. The most helpful players earned a place on the Honours List, the Bring-a-Friend Race rewarded testers for filling their own tables, and every big milestone was celebrated together.
445+ testers · 485,000+ hands played between players · 16 games in the house
Live on Android from Tuesday 3 November 2026, with iPhone following as soon as Apple approves. Search for Poker Call: Live Hold’em on Google Play.
